From hosting only one show a month in 2023, the contagious energy of live music mixed with authentic French food inspired Brasserie Coquette to expand their venue to now weekly shows over the summer. For their first time as a part of this year’s Vancouver Jazz Festival Club series, Coquette Brasserie is excitedly presenting an array of vocal jazz, New Orleans jazz and gypsy Jazz. This venue promises a true feast of the senses to bring the community of Vancouver together in the charming neighbourhood of Kitsilano.
Brimming with a je ne sais quoi, Coquette Brasserie transports you to France with classical and soulful renditions of legends Ella Fitzgerald, Edith Pilaf and more. A standout moment of the festival will be the return of Dane Warren, who made history as the venue’s very first performer. Now, he comes full circle to close out the Club Series alongside Mad Jazz Live in what promises to be a truly unforgettable show. You can also savor performers from Vancouver based string swing jazz quartet Van Django, Paul Fabb and Susan Lepin’s melodious duo “Crimson & Blue”, the Jim Hopson Groove Trio with their retro-romantic vibes, and more.
This summer you can soak in the jazz jams, which are free alongside dining at Coquette while indulging in the variety spanning from authentic french fare like onion soup, steak frites and mussels – to the local fan favorite duck caesar salad and a mouthwatering ever-classic burger.
