Are you ready to spend some diverse, startling, amazing, and inspiring hours digging in to all the Festival has to offer?
Coastal Jazz (with the help of the unsung heroes of the music industry–interns with exquisite taste) has put together some Spotify playlists to scratch your musical itches and give you a preview of this year’s great music. Why not follow us on Spotify, and never miss curated lists of the coolest music in town?
First up, it’s the Marquee Series. These crowd-pleasing shows at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre feature something for everyone. Whether it’s the Afro-future sounds of saxophonist Kamasi Washington, the soulful singing of Macy Gray, the trancey rhythms of Bonobo (with a live band!) or Robert Plant’s folk-rock interpretations of Zeppelin classics and new material, you’re sure to find something pleasing.

Then our Vogue Theatre and Jazz at Pyatt Hall series offer a variety of concerts–from indie pop to straight-ahead jazz to salsa rhythms–with top calibre international artists as well as much lauded local talent.

Finally, our evening concerts at Performance Works are cooler than ever this year. Smokin’ hot guitarists Julian Lage and Robben Ford, UK piano trio Gogo Penguin, cult songstress Mary Margaret O’Hara, and local heroes Pugs & Crows and Hard Rubber Orchestra make up an eclectic series on our Granville Island festival hub.

Speaking of Granville Island, there’s 10 days of free concerts on two stages, as well as our huge free weekends Downtown and at David Lam Park. Broke? Don’t sweat it, we’ve got you covered.
