Celebrated Vancouver jazz masters Bernie Arai drums and Chris Gestrin piano explore shibusa, the Japanese aesthetic principle of simple, subtle, unobtrusive beauty. Longtime musical compatriots in numerous ensembles, Wabi strips bass from the traditional piano trio format to create duets that explore incompleteness, sparse quietude, and the beauty of imperfection.
