Come experience the results of a remarkable jazz intensive! The VYJO program is a unique music residency for Metro Vancouver high school students, co-presented by Coastal Jazz, the Vancouver Jazz Orchestra and Vancouver Community College. Through five weeks of rehearsals, talented teens from across the Lower Mainland cultivate their talents and networks through mentorship from members of the Vancouver Jazz Orchestra, including bandleader/trumpet mentor Geeta Das, VJO artistic director James Danderfer, trombone mentor Nebyu Yohannes, sax mentor Ingrid Stitt, and rhythm section mentor Bernie Arai.
