Florian Hoeffer & Subtone
Subtone stands in the forefront of today’s young innovative jazz ensembles. Founded in 2005 in Berlin, its members now live on both sides of the Atlantic, in St. John’s, Netherlands, Berlin, and Cologne. The group has collaborated with artists the likes of Kurt Rosenwinkel, Seamus Blake, Joe Lovano, Dave Liebman, and Randy Brecker. With their own imaginative compositions, from the voluminous big band sound to a bare essential chamber music approach, Subtone has released four acclaimed albums in the last 10 years. Featuring Magnus Schriefl on trumpet, flugelhorn, Malte Dürrschnabel on woodwinds, Florian Hoefner piano, Mattias Pichler bass, and Peter Gall on drums.
