Ravi Coltrane Quartet; Centennial Celebration
Ravi Coltrane is a critically acclaimed Grammy-nominated saxophonist, bandleader, and composer whose more than two-decade career has established him as one of jazz’s most respected voices. As both a leader and collaborator, he has released six acclaimed albums and worked alongside celebrated artists including Elvin Jones, McCoy Tyner, Jack DeJohnette, Joe Lovano, and Steve Coleman. Born on Long Island as the second son of jazz icons John and Alice Coltrane and named after sitar legend Ravi Shankar, he was raised in Los Angeles and shaped by a rich musical legacy. Ravi also played a key role in bringing his mother, Alice Coltrane, back to recording and performance, producing and performing on her powerful 2004 release Translinear Light.
