Alto saxophonist Cory Weeds celebrates his 15th release as a leader! Recorded one year ago, “Live at Frankie’s” features the legendary Harold Mabern on piano and trumpeter Terell Stafford. For the release celebration, Weeds will be joined on the front line by fiery New York trumpeter, Josh Bruneau. In addition to music from the recording, they will be celebrating the music of Jackie McLean.

Having recently issued another CD, Helen returns to Frankie’s with new arrangements of rare jazz tunes from the 1920’s to the 1960’s. This repertoire, which consistently delights listeners, will be presented in her effortless vocal style with a bit of humour and patter thrown into the mix. Accompanying Helen is a ‘ringer’ of a band of Miles Black piano, Bill Coon guitar, and Jodi Proznick bass (also known as Triology).
