Her great band includes Sharon Minemoto on piano, with Laurence Mollerup on bass, and Craig Scott on drums.

Vancouver jazz vocalist Maya Rae is creating buzz with her sold out shows during the jazz festival. CBC named Maya one of the “35 best Canadian jazz artists under 35”, calling her “a supremely gifted artist who’s able to phrase like Sarah Vaughan but write a lyric like Joni Mitchell.” Rae’s sublime originals brush shoulders with jazz standards and modern tunes. Her “A-list cast of Vancouver jazz musicians” (Georgia Straight) features John Lee piano, Louis Rudner bass, and Ben Henriques tenor saxophone.
