Waahli & Guests
North Shore Jazz
Waahli is a Montréal-based artist of Haitian descent who fuses hip-hop, Afrobeat, reggae, and Haitian funk into a unique musical approach deeply rooted in his heritage. A co-founder of hip-hop supergroup Nomadic Massive, Waahli’s solo career has also flourished; his fourth album Seven Bubbles dropped this year. Performed in English, French, and Haitian Creole, it’s an astoundingly inventive project that pushes aesthetic and sonic boundaries. For this show, Waahli will be joined by Vancouver musicians in what’s sure to be a thrilling collaboration.
Presented in association with North Shore Jazz.
