Icelandic pianist Sunna Gunnlaugs’ lyrical playing bridges the gap between American and Scandanvian jazz traditions. Influenced equally by Bill Evans and Bobo Stenson, she treats the listener to joyful, swinging buoyancy and ethereal abstraction. Her romantic compositions are brought to expressive life with Eivind Opsvik bass and Scott McLemore drums.
