Rolling Stone raved that Mexico’s “Sr. Mandril conquered the audience with an excellent mix of lounge and acid jazz” at the Montreal Jazz Festival. Now, Vancouver gets its turn to revel in their amped-up funk/rock hybrid. Two horns, guitar, and synths pulsing over tight, Latin-tinged rhythms—you can’t not dance to Sr. Mandril.
