Born into a family of Venezuelan folk musicians, jazz pianist Benito Gonzalez has always had a deep-rooted appreciation for tradition. Today, as a rising star, Gonzalez follows in the footsteps of jazz’s ancestral forebears. To date, he has shared the stage with heavy hitters like Christian McBride, Roy Hargrove, Antonio Sanchez, T.K. Blue, and Nicholas Payton, and has garnered critical acclaim for his work on Kenny Garrett’s Grammy-nominated album Seeds from the Underground. The fusion of world rhythms and straight-ahead jazz make this passionate performer an audience favorite all over the world.
