POTATOHEAD PEOPLE

Vancouver hip hop/electronic duo Potatohead People (Nick Wisdom and AstroLogical) first met in high school, bonding over a shared love of J Dilla and Madlib. Since then, the “formidable tandem” (OkayPlayer) has released three albums of forward-thinking grooves, assembled a kicking 10-piece band, and worked with artists like De La Soul, Moka Only, and Kaytranada.

XHALIDA

From Filipina and South African ancestry, Xhalida September grew up around an abundance of world knowledge and musical diversity. Buoyed by her broad-ranging passions for singing, songwriting, dance, linguistics, social activism, ethnobotany, and photography, it’s Xhalida’s poetry that’s been the primary gateway for her ever-evolving, community-minded soul music.
