Vancouver-based tenor saxophonist Mike Allen is a disciple of legendary US tenor Joe Henderson who he studied with in the late 90s. Mike’s lyrical playing and musical hospitality inspires a bandstand vibe that opens up to vital performances. For the month of January local jazz heroes are teaming up with world-class guest artists every Wednesday for our Artist In Residence series at Frankie’s Jazz Club. With Bill Coon guitar, Darren Radtke bass, and Dave Robbins drums.
