Maya Rae & Terminal Station
Maya Rae is one of Canada’s Top 35 Jazz Artists Under 35 (CBC)…. “A supremely gifted artist who is able to phrase like Sarah Vaughan but write a lyric like Joni Mitchell.” Maya has performed across Canada and has headlined the Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton, Calgary Jazz Festivals and Canadian Music Week in 2018. Maya’s debut album, “Sapphire Birds” was released in 2017, and she is currently working on her sophomore album of original music with Steve Dawson in Nashville, Tennessee. Her music conveys messages of authenticity, self-love, hope and female empowerment.
Terminal Station is a blues-rock band in the best sense of the word, kicking the traditional blues sound into high gear. Their music is raw and exciting – full of fat bass lines, explosive drumming, risk taking guitar solos, and impassioned vocals. The members of Terminal Station – Liam MacDonald drums, Jeremy Holmes bass, Scott Smith vocals/guitar – have been key players in Vancouver’s blues and roots scene for the better part of a decade. They have played with Vancouver artists such as Barney Bentall, Steve Dawson, Rich Hope, Ridley Bent, Buckman Coe, and Jim Byrnes – as well as American artists such as John Hammond and Alvin Youngblood Hart.
