Lori Goldston (Experimental Short Films with Live Score)

“Goldston is a hugely important character in contemporary music history.” – The Quietus

“Cello music sounded from fathoms deep.” – NPR

Lori Goldston plays written and spontaneous work on cello, and works as a composer, teacher, bandleader, and prolific, widely varied collaborator. Her voice as a cellist is singular, deeply textured and original, investigating thresholds, instability, and connections between far-flung modes of thought.

She lives in Seattle and performs in venues large and small throughout North America, Europe and Australia as a soloist and collaborator with composers, filmmakers, writers, theatre directors, choreographers, visual artists, orchestras and bands including Earth, Nirvana, the BBC Scottish Symphony, Black Belt Eagle Scout, Helms Alee, Mirah, David Byrne, Terry Riley, Jessika Kenney, Lonnie Holley, Trimpin, Stuart Dempster, Shelley Hirsch, Ilan Volkov, Josephine Foster, Michael Hurley, Ghedalia Tezartes, Senga Nengudi, Ellen Fullman, Lynn Shelton, and many, many others.

Malcolm Jack

Touching on the concepts of modern myth, offline living, ecology and alienation, Vancouver-born “folk” singer Malcolm Jack has created a one of a kind world that is as inclusive as it is unique, allowing peers to peer into their own lives and environments with stunning magnification. Currently accompanied by James Meger on upright bass and Cole Schmidt on electric guitar, the trio find otherworldly plateaus for these most earthly creations.
