Andromeda Monk’s compositions challenge players to switch roles and imitate each other, going so far as to have acoustic instruments emulate disembodied electronic glitch. This conceptual hall of mirrors is offset by heartfelt melodies, laying groundwork for improvisations by Lucy Strauss viola, Natasha Zrno clarinet/effects, Feven Kidane bass, Matthew Ariaratnam guitar, Adrian Avendaño drums, and Monk on synthesizer.
