Eve Risser is among the most prominent creators on the European scene, and her solo prepared piano album Après un Rêve (on Clean Feed Records) is almost Zen in its organic, dreamlike developments. “There’s a sense of open-ended experimentalism to her approach. Like setting a Rube Goldberg machine in motion, if half the machine was unassembled at start, and the project consisted of Risser assembling the rest in front of our eyes” (Free Jazz Collective).
