From the roots of Afro-Cuban music to Clavé infused Jazz, this Vancouver-based group illuminates and illustrates the historical and evolving intersection of Jazz and traditional Afro-Latin music. Major influences for this group are Afro- Cuban Jazz pioneers such as Machito, Mario Bauza, Mongo Santamaria, Tata Guines, Irakere, and the many others that have created their own voice to make this exciting genre of music what it is today.
