Chris Corsano & John Brennan are a percussion duo focused on improvisation, resonance, and rhythm through collaboration. Since 2016, they have developed a creative relationship that began when Brennan invited Corsano to contribute to The Temporal Drum Set (2016–2018), a sound installation and performance project examining the sonic memory and agency of the drum set. Their work bridges extended techniques, instrument modification, experimentation and free improvisation.

They have performed as a duo and in a trio with Elisa Ferrari, with recent appearances including the Fake Jazz concert series in Vancouver (2024). In January 2024, Corsano and Brennan recorded their debut duo album Buzzing With Rumours, to be released on Mint Records in February 2026.

Chris Corsano is a New York–based drummer known for his innovations across free jazz, avant-rock, and experimental music. Described by The Guardian as “one of the world’s great drummers,” he has performed with Björk, Joe McPhee, Paul Flaherty, Okkyung Lee, Bill Orcutt, and many others. He has appeared on more than 180 recordings and received the Foundation for Contemporary Arts Grant to Artists award in 2017.

John Brennan is a drummer, sound artist, and improviser based in Vancouver, on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. His work spans installation, sonic sculpture, and performance, with a focus on the acoustic memory of instruments and the extended potential of the drum set. He is a founding member of Earth Ball, whose recent LP Outside Over There (Upset! The Rhythm) was ranked # 2 best records of 2025 by The Quietus. Their record Actual Earth Music Vol. 1 & 2 (Upset! The Rhythm) follows collaborations with Steve Beresford and Chris Corsano live at Cafe Oto. Brennan has also collaborated with Raven Chacon, Victoria Shen, John Dieterich, Greg Saunier, and many others.

They will be joined by a special guest Kim Alpert on visuals.
