No chords and the truth—four of Vancouver’s finest musicians let loose on one of jazz’s purest forms: the chordless horns/bass/drums group. Brad Turner trumpet, Jon Bentley sax, André Lachance bass, and Joe Poole drums use simple song forms as launch pads for unbridled, swing-based improv in the spirit of early ’60s Sonny Rollins and Ornette Coleman.
