A prolific trombone dynamo on the Edmonton scene, 2020 WCMA Jazz Artist of the Year Audrey Ochoa mixes jazz, Latin, fusion, and propulsive pop with a playful sense of humour. Described by mentor and trombone master Hugh Fraser as “highly original and powerfully lyrical”, Ochoa’s played with Lew Tebackin, Marcus Miller, and the Temptations. Her quartet features Jim Head guitar, Mike Lent bass, and Jon May drums.
