Asef
The name Asef has its origins in Arabic and Persian cultures. The members of the group bring to the stage many years of experience playing a variety of music from around the world including Balkan folk, Tango, Klezmer, Flamenco and Bebop. Their compositions embrace this vast range of musical sounds taking the audience on a truly unique musical journey. The band members hope this music will help us all to come together peacefully despite our differences. On June 22, they will be performing at the Zameen Art House, an intimate performance space on Granville Island, as part of an Infidels Jazz Showcase taking place during the Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
Saul Berson saxophones, Itamar Erez guitar, Sam Shoichet bass and Liam Macdonald drums/percussion.
Presented by Infidels Jazz.
Note: This is an Infidels Jazz production, and Jazz Festival artist, staff, or volunteer passes are not applicable.
