2021 Festival Playlists!

This year’s TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival will include over 100 events—that’s a lot to choose from! Whether you’ve been thinking about taking in some shows but don’t quite know what to check out, or you’re a seasoned Jazz Fest veteran who just wants to take a deeper dive into the program, our Festival Playlists on Spotify are a great resource.

We’ve broken down highlights from this year’s program into little sonic choose-your-own-adventures to help take the guesswork out of your ticket buying or free show scheduling.

First up, there’s Classic Jazz! If you like your jazz straight, no chaser, then this is the playlist for you. Featuring heavy hitters from our Pyatt Hall, Frankie’s Jazz Club, and Performance Works series (among others), these tunes are sure to get you grooving.

After a year of hanging out at home (and with the hope of a return to normalcy on the horizon), we put together a playlist of music for Dancing In Your Living Room to help bring some joyful movement into your life! If you like what you hear, all the artists in this playlist are guaranteed to deliver a stellar show.

The Phenomenal Women playlist highlights the music of some of the incredible, must-see performers we have at the Fest this year who also happen to be women. There’s a great variety of music in this one, with representation from across multiple genres, so it’s a good one to throw on if you feel like being taken on a journey.

No extra cash for tickets? No problem! Over half of our program this year is made up of FREE SHOWS! All you have to do is tune in on YouTube at the time of the performance and enjoy. Still, there’s a ton to choose from, so to walk you through some of it, we made the Free Program Highlights playlist.
