Bill Sample and Darlene Ketchum’s newly formed Wild Blue Herons’ music is a combination of jazz, funk, soul, blues with “smoky” ballads, blending groove with complex chords, rhythms, and soulful melodies. With original songs filled with themes of love and social consciousness. Performing with a stellar group of seasoned musicians, armed with a debut release On the Outside, referencing influences such as Earth, Wind and Fire, Nancy Wilson, Doug Riley (Dr. Music), Steely Dan and, most recently, Snarky Puppy, and Jacob Collier.
