DESCRIPTION:Bill Coon has been an important part of the Canadian and West Coast jazz community for more than three decades as a performer\, composer\, and educator. He has performed alongside jazz legends including Jimmy Heath\, Peter Bernstein\, and Dr. Lonnie Smith\, led acclaimed projects such as the Bill Coon Trio and BC Double Quartet\, and released numerous celebrated recordings. DESCRIPTION:Julian Borkowski is a multi-instrumentalist\, composer and educator based in Vancouver\, British Columbia. Having started with the trumpet\, Borkowski began playing the piano while earning his Bachelor’s Degree at Capilano University under the mentorship of Brad Turner. He later earned his Master’s Degree from The University of Oregon while studying with Paul Krueger trumpet and Keith Brown piano. DESCRIPTION:The SMOG Quartet is co-led by Vancouver pianist Sharon Minemoto and legendary Canadian guitarist and Order of Canada recipient\, Oliver Gannon.
