DESCRIPTION:Benjamin Sigerson is a Vancouver-based composer/pianist\, who received his degree in composition from McGill University in 2023 having studied with Brian Cherney and Christine Jensen. Sigerson has won several awards for both composition and performance\, and recently released a five-keyboard record “The Forest for the Trees” with Cellar Live. As a pianist\, Sigerson has played with Canadian legends like Cory Weeds\, Kevin Dean\, Campbell Ryga\, and Jim Doxas\, and has been included on several albums and concerts across the country. Joining him is veteran Vancouver drummer Craig Scott and Victoria bassist John Mossie.

SUMMARY:Sharon Minemoto Quartet
DESCRIPTION:Since the age of sixteen\, Sharon Minemoto has been performing to audiences around the world. She is the leader of a trio\, a quartet and a quintet. Her trio and quintet have each released one CD as well as several shows for CBC Radio. Her quartet’s recording\, “Safe Travels”\, took the band on a Canadian tour in February and March of 2018. In August\, 2023\, the quartet released their second album\, “Dark Night\, Bright Stars.” This performance features Sharon Minemoto piano\, Jon Bentley tenor sax\, Darren Radtke bass\, and Bernie Arai drums. \nIn addition to performing\, she is a seasoned educator. She has been on faculty in the music department at Vancouver Community College since 2000 and sits on the board of directors for the Fraser MacPherson Jazz Fund. Sharon has been curating the popular weekly jazz series at La Fabrique St. George Winery since September\, 2022.

As a leader\, she has released three albums with a fourth to be released at the end of summer. Her quartet’s recording\, “Safe Travels”\, took the band on a Canadian tour in February and March of 2018. In addition to her own ensembles\, she has performed in groups led by Jill Townsend\, Cory Weeds\, The Vancouver Jazz Orchestra\, John Korsrud\, James Danderfer\, Laura Crema\, Alan Matheson\, Mike Allen\, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the Phoenix Chamber Choir. Sharon has been on faculty at Vancouver Community College in the school of music since 2000. In 2019\, CBC Radio in Vancouver selected one of Sharon’s compositions as the theme song for their weekly jazz program\, “Hot Air”. Her trio includes Darren Radtke bass and Dave Robbins drums.
