It includes his multi-movement ‘Pacific Suite’ inspired by his formative experiences in his native BC\, along with works that blend the influences of his jazz heroes of Thad Jones\, John Clayton\, Bill Holman\, and his mentor Fred Stride with his parallel study of Western Classical music. \nThe record features some of Vancouver’s best; Steve Kaldestad\, Brent Mah\, Michael Kim\, Duran Ritz\, and many other notable instrumentalists.

They will play tunes from her iconic album with saxophonist Cannonball Adderley in addition to other classic albums from Wilson’s career. \nWith an all star band featuring Chris Davis on trumpet\, Cory Weeds on saxophone\, Jodi Proznick on bass\, Tilden Webb on piano and Joel Fountain on drums. \nABOUT JAZZ FOR BARB SERIES AND THE ITALIAN CULTURAL CENTRE \nBarbara Fudge was a passionate and loyal fan of jazz music. She could be seen all over the city at various jazz events talking and laughing with her friends\, mingling with the musicians and enjoying a glass of fine wine. Her personality and laugh were contagious and although no longer with us\, her larger than life spirit shines bright. We are so happy to be able to honour her with our ‘Jazz For Barb’ Series.
