DESCRIPTION:John Lee is known for his incredible proficiency as a multi-instrumentalist as well as his ability to connect audience to his music and live charisma. Lee has done an extensive amount of performing in cities located in North America including New York City (Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola\, SOMETHIN’ Jazz Club)\, Boston (Wally’s Jazz Café\, The Beehive)\, Washington (Kennedy Center Millennium Stage\, Hamilton Live)\, Toronto (The Rex)\, Vancouver (Cellar Jazz Club)\, and Victoria (Hermann’s Jazz Club). Lee has performed numerous times as a sideman and leader at international jazz festivals including TD PEC Jazz Festival\, DC Jazz Festival and TD Victoria International Jazz Festival. \nJohn Lee has shared the stage with international jazz artists such as Cyrus Chestnut\, Larry Fuller\, George Colligan\, Seamus Blake\, Terell Stafford\, Ingrid Jensen as well as Canadian jazz greats Christine Jensen (CJ Jazz Orchestra)\, Brad Turner (Metalwood)\, Jodi Proznick (Triology) and Phil Dwyer (Don Thompson). \nWith John Lee on piano\, Daniel Howard on bass and Graham Villette on drums.

DESCRIPTION:Possessed of an innate enquiring mind\, Philadelphia-born drummer Ari Hoenig relentlessly explores the melodic possibilities of the drums. He has worked with a long and impressive list of musicians ranging from Joshua Redman to Mike Stern\, Shirley Scott\, and Richard Bona – they’re all on Hoenig’s CV. He released his latest album\, The Pauper And The Magician\, in 2016. The other members of the Ari Hoenig Trio are the highly talented Israeli musicians Nitai Hershkovits and Or Bareket. Pianist Hershkovits is equally at home in jazz as he is in classical music. His playing is elegant and tinged with melancholy. He has performed at major festivals like the Antibes Jazz Festival and Montreux. Bassist Bareket’s career is one of the fastest moving on the New York jazz scene. His distinctive improvisation style reflects Mediterranean\, South American\, and North African influences but is nonetheless always rooted in the traditions of American jazz.

Micah’s show “Christmas in New York” includes favorite holiday tunes\, Nylons classics and Jazz standards that pay tribute to the musical history of New York! \nVisit legendary musical landmarks such as The Brill Building\, The Savoy Ballroom\, The Cotton Club\, The Apollo Theatre\, and Broadway’s Time Square with songs that will give you that “Holiday in The Big Apple” experience! \nNew York has long been an inspiration to musicians in the Jazz world so it’s no surprise that when Micah began writing his latest disc there he found the musical history of the city deeply inspiring. Living in an apartment right on the site of the legendary Savoy Ballroom and writing in a piano studio near Time Square\, Micah found a deep connection to the Jazz and Blues standards written in the 30’s and 40’s\, by folks such as Cole Porter\, George Gershwin and Howard Arlen\, many of which debuted at The Cotton Club or in popular Broadway shows.
