Find out the inside track on how to be a successful working jazz vocalist! In this interactive workshop, Champian discusses the basics such as rhythm, melody, diction, and improvising, as well as being a bandleader and honing your stage presence. Singers wishing to participate should come with at least two prepared song selections in the jazz repertoire.

Jazz education is a cause near and dear to Champian’s heart, inspired by her coach, legendary trumpeter, Clark Terry who taught her rehearsal techniques, performance etiquette, and business of the jazz. Champian has been involved in educational programs such as Litchfield Jazz Camp and Rutgers Jazz Institute. Her skills as an educator in jazz come from the highest authorities as she works to perpetuate the jazz language.
