Four-time JUNO Award winner and 2003 SOCAN Composer of the Year, pianist and former Vancouverite Renee Rosnes relocated to New York in ’86 and quickly made her mark. Her “paradoxical amalgam of passion and precision” (Winnipeg Sun) makes for fiery, forthright post-bop, full of bold imagination. She’s played with Ron Carter, Joe Henderson, and Wayne Shorter, and recently released an album with husband and fellow piano great Bill Charlap. A rare talent, “Rosnes offers exquisite balances of delicacy and power, witty and weighted ideas, assertiveness and deference.” (Downbeat) With Steve Nelson vibes, Peter Washington bass and Lewis Nash drums, “she clearly has the world at her own fingertips” (Village Voice).
