Three of the world’s most expressive and inspiring musicians come together for a late night summit meeting. One of Canada’s foremost improvising musicians, pianist Paul Plimley (NOW Orchestra) is a joyful tornado of avant-improvisation, modal melodic manipulations, and sharp neo-classicism. Drummer Gerry Hemingway (Anthony Braxton) has been on the leading edge of creative music since the early 70’s, using extended technique and passionate sonic exploration in his dynamic, broad-minded approach. Cutting-edge Canadianborn, Stockholm-based Joe Williamson bass uses “all kinds of technique to conjure up a rationally deployed array of fractured growls, corroded rapture and squeaking grease.” (Touching Extremes)
