MILES BLACK TRIO plays RED GARLAND
Time 8:00 pm
Pianist Red Garland mixed together the usual influences of his generation (Nat Cole, Bud Powell, and Ahmad Jamal) into his own distinctive approach; Garland's block chords themselves became influential on the players of the 1960s. During an illustrious career he worked with Charlie Parker, Coleman Hawkins, Lester Young, Roy Eldridge and the legendary Miles Davis. Pianist Miles Black's residency continues with a tribute to the great Red Garland. With Adam Thomas bass Julian MacDonough drums.
