A must-see for forward-thinking jazz fans, this meeting between a New York avant titan and three of Vancouver’s most dynamic creative voices is sure to be full of originality and fire. Called “the most impressive guitarist of her generation” (AllAboutJazz), Mary Halvorson has worked with Anthony Braxton, Tim Berne, and a plethora of cutting-edge jazz artists. Skye Brooks’ drumming is as incisive as it is emotional. His main projects include Inhabitants and Tony Wilson’s Sextet. JP Carter brings his idiosyncratic melodicism and signature affected trumpet sound to acts as diverse as Destroyer and Fond of Tigers.
