All great jazz singers have a least three qualities in common. The first is that unique timbre that sets their voice apart. The second is the material they choose to sing, and the third is the fresh ideas and insights they bring to those songs. Laura Crema has all three in spades! - CBC Radio Minemoto is a swinging, sensitive pianist with a highly melodic style and a composer of some very hip original music - Coastal Jazz & Blues  Vancouver vocalist Laura Crema and pianist, composer Sharon Minemoto play the majestic music of Billy Strayhorn and Duke Ellington. Billy Strayhorn, the genius American composer, pianist and arranger, best known for his successful collaboration with the great Duke Ellington lasting nearly three decades. His compositions include "Take the A Train", "Chelsea Bridge" and "Lush Life".  The evening will focus on Billy Strayhorn compositions with some Ellington gems included.  With Laura Crema voice, Sharon Minemoto piano, Jon Bentley sax, Paul Rushka bass and Dave Robbins drums
