The award-winning Jodi Proznick Quartet is a fresh, intense, swinging and highly interactive group led by bassist Jodi Proznick, who has shared the stage with international artists such as Seamus Blake, Eddie Daniels, Sheila Jordan and Mark Murphy. The killer band—Tilden Webb piano, Steve Kaldestad tenor sax, Jesse Cahill drums—performs originals as well as compositions by Ellington, Lennon/McCartney, and Joni Mitchell.
Collaborating with the quartet for the first time is the award-winning Canadian pianist/singer-songwriter Laila Biali whose resume includes work with Suzanne Vega, Chris Botti, Paul Cook and Sting. Biali takes the best of pop, rock and soul, informs it with her knowledge of jazz and weaves it into her musical arrangements. She’s performed at Festivals around the world including the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival and the North Sea Jazz Festival. Her latest studio recording, Tracing Light, was nominated for a JUNO for Best Vocal Jazz Album of the Year in 2011.
