Gabriel plays what he likes and likes what he plays! He is a lifelong hornmeister (trumpet, flute, flugelhorn, and more), ubiquitous by all counts, highly visible on the international circuit, as well as the local scene. He melds his jazz influences into a living, breathing show and keeps the transitions seemless and without artifice. His progenitors include (classic): Blue Mitchell, Chet Baker; (contemporary): Rick Braun, Chris Botti; (New Orleans): Christian Scott, Leroy Jones. For this show he will be incorporating Alita Dupray, a vocalist with true jazz sensibilities and improv skills, who also straddles the classic and contemporary realms. Also on the bill will be Laurence Mollerup on bass, Jason DeCouto on piano, and Joel Fountain on drums.
