About the Artists

Here comes a Cajun music dance-a-thon brimming with sounds as compelling, diverse, and exotic as one evening can deliver. Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys set the gold standard for modern Cajun music. Since 1988, and over a span of 10 CD releases, their musicianship, songwriting skills, soaring vocal harmonizing, and relentless grooves mark them as one of the best bands ever to emerge from southern Louisiana. Singing almost exclusively in French, accordionist Steve Riley and his crew celebrate the treasures found in the Cajun tradition, while finding a rich and convincing contemporary voice for this resilient American roots musical style. So grab your dance partner and soak up an earful of bayou country: past, present, and future. With David Greely fiddle, Sam Broussard guitar, Brazos Huval bass, Kevin Dugas drums.
