About the Artists

“Florence is beguiling. Her long, aquiline nose, wide set dark eyes, bobbed black hair and that smile, oh that smile, make for a commanding, yet impish presence. She sat at the piano beaming, head cocked over one shoulder, singing in a voice clear and pure with a darling vibrato and an indescribable texture…we were transfixed.”—Montreal Gazette

Twenty-something Florence K is on a roll! The Quebec-born vocalist/pianist already has three albums under her wing, has performed on four continents, and sings in English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish. Her live concerts are enchanting musical celebrations that mix jazz, bossa, blues, and plenty of Cuban salsa. A charming newcomer to the scene, Florence K is a recipient of the Felix Award for “Best World Album 2007” for Bossa Blue. With Norm Zbala guitar and Alec McElchran bass.
