The Coastal Sound Singers are members of the various children’s choirs at Coastal Sound Music Academy, a non-profit choral music education organization that is based in the Tri-Cities. There are seven choirs, and an artistic team of nine directors and accompanists, led by artistic director Diana Clark.
Demonstrating the joy of singing, connecting with others, and developing as choral artists are the core values of the Coastal Sound community. Coastal Sound Singers range in age from 4 years old to adults, and come from all over Metro Vancouver to participate in the choral education programs.
Coastal Sound choirs love to work with guest conductors and collaborate with other choirs and artists whenever possible. Recent projects for the young choirs include performances and collaborations with composers Stephen Hatfield, Imant Raminsh and Kris Fulton; singing with Alpha Yaya Diallo; opening TEDxKids BC conference; O Canada at Grey Cup 2014; performing with Vancouver Chamber Choir; backing up Michael Bublé on his 2013 Christmas Holiday TV Special. Chris Sigerson, Steve Maddock and Brian Tate have worked with Coastal Sound singers, much to singers’ and audience delight.
