Celine Bonacina Trio
Roundhouse - Performance Centre
Time 3:15 pm
“Bonacina brings echoes of the UK’s John Surman and the casual lyricism of sometime collaborator Andy Sheppard. She also recalls the late Michael Brecker’s one-man show in her playful call-and-response conversations with herself, and her fondness for digging into funky, blues-rooted grooves” – The Guardian. From wistful to roaring, France’s award-winning CeLline Bonacina is one of a handful of players with the chops and passion to put the baritone sax at the forefront, leading her smoking band through hard-blowing funk, infectious grooves, and introspective ballads. With Olivier Carole bass, Hary Ratsimbazafy drums.
