Bassist, composer, and vocalist Brandi Disterheft studied under Miles Davis' bassist, Ron Carter, and has recorded with Hank Jones, Benny Green, Vincent Herring, Cyrus Chestnut to name a few. From NYC, she brings with her guru drummer Portinho known as the "James Brown of the Brazilian Funk Samba" (Tania Maria, Harry Belefonte, Paquito D'Rivera, Airto Moreira, Charlie Rouse, Rosa Pasos) and pianist Klaus Mueller also regarded as an arranger with notable work for legend Herbie Hancock creating orchestral versions of songs for Hancock's critically acclaimed Gershwin's World album. The trio performs music of Lee Morgan, Percy Heath, Sam Jones, Cedar Walton, and Oscar Peterson played in a Brazilian samba-style with slick up tempo arrangements juxtaposed by Brandi's ethereal vocals.
