Vancouver-born, New York-based saxophonist Michael Blake’s Canadian Club features a stellar cast of Vancouver greats. The bandleader in Blake allows his fellow musicians to take the music where they choose, but he is far from a passive bystander. Blake is an exciting soloist who also displays an intensely personal lyricism.
He established his credentials with John Lurie’s Lounge Lizards for 10 years (1990 – 2000) in NYC and from the late 90’s Michael went on to record over 10 records as a leader with various projects around the world including Blake Tartare, Hellbent, Amor de Cosmos and Slow Poke.
